Snake and Rat--Prologue.

Statement:
     "No one saw it coming. Sure, it had been said, time and time again, that the world would come to an end, like all things. It had been said before. Suicide cults, religious debacles, and all had been proven wrong. The Mayans had said that December 23rd, 2012, would be the end of all things great and small. Like the rest, they were wrong, but they weren't far off. And no one could have fathomed it ending that way, with such a collaboration of different ways to end the world.
     "It had started slow, almost peaceful. It came to be known as the Rapture, like from the Bible. The sky tore open to reveal what could only be described as Heaven. It radiated purity. Slowly, people started going to it, but it wasn't of their own free will. The Rapture targeted people not because of their religion, race, gender, sexual orientation, or anything; it just took what was good. Those deemed righteous, kind, pure, good, honest, loyal and noble. The liars, criminals, sluts and the selfish were left behind.
     "And if you think it's over, you're wrong. Things got much, much worse. Like the planet was attempting to kill itself, hell broke loose. Hurricanes, tornadoes, eruptions, Earth quakes, and even tsunamis, dust storms, and disastrous land slides. Almost everything was wiped out; only the planets largest cities survived, and even they were ruined.
     "It's still not over. Even now, it's not over. As the sky had split to reveal the Heavens, the ground cracked to reveal the pits of Hell. And from those cracks came the most handsome creatures to ever take over the little planet: Demons. They  were gorgeous, cunning, crafty, and completely unstoppable. It wasn't a take over, it was a victory; we didn't even have time to surrender. The world was theirs, and Anex was in control, following orders from the Devil himself.
     "Hospitals were destroyed, along with fire departments, law enforcement, and anything else that could save us. Other than that, we were aloud to roam free. Even with our technology and comforts, though, it was like we were thrown into the dark ages. No law, no punishment for those who deserved it. You couldn't even walk down the street without seeing someones pocket get picked, or nearly getting conned out of fifty bucks yourself.
     "The world wasn't over, but it was ending. Slowly but surely, the world was withering away."
